From Cruise Port: Akaroa-Christchurch
Discover the beauty and history of Akaroa Harbour, the Akaroa Township and this area of the Banks Peninsula.
On departing Akaroa Wharf, the tour will initially take you through the charming 'French' township of Akaroa before travelling by road through the inner bays of the harbour.
A stop will be made at the cheese factory in Barrys Bay, where local hand crafted cheese can be sampled. This local icon is the last remaining cheese producer in the area and favourites include their havarti and blue varieties.
Next, we climb the road to the Hilltop lookout and on to the Summit Road. In both locations, you will have some truly magnificent views of the entire Akaroa Harbour and the Banks Peninsula.
On returning into Akaroa, our final stop is at the Giants House, with its beautiful gardens and sculptures. Here a guided tour has been arranged for you to enjoy the contemporary art, sculptures, terraced gardens, mosaics and more at this quirky and funky attraction. Afterwards, your tour finally concludes back at the Akaroa Wharf.

Yes, this tour finishes at 2.00 pm with most cruise lines departing the Port of Akaroa between 5-6 pm. You will have plenty of time to explore and shop before you need to catch the last tender back to your ship
